Understanding the impact of false accusations
Tracy Felstead's evidence sets out the impact on her of being fired, investigated, prosecuted, and then having her conviction quashed. To understand the impact of PO on the victims' lives, click on...
There are many awful stories about how the Scandal has blighted lives. We did some research outlined here scratching the surface of this and Nick Wallis’ book is full of heartbreaking stories.
The third of our videos, and the last for now at least, turns to one of those stories. I should warn you that this is a very distressing series of clips.
Yesterday Tracy met with Nick Read, CEO of PO, to discuss her case. A brave and difficult step for her. Here is her story. It answers the question: how does the criminal justice system and the Post Office system of investigation of prosecutions treat a nineteen year old and what impact did that have on her?
Tomorrow Gareth Jenkins gives evidence to the Inquiry. His evidence is relevant many cases but particularly relevant to Seema Misra’s case, for reasons I am sure you will hear about soon. You can watch Seema’s evidence in full here (alongside the full evidence session with Tracy and Janet Skinner)
One can only hope that Tracy's wish for accountability for the crooks who ran the Post Office and their bent lawyers will be met but seeing how the people running the PO are patting themselves on the bank for complying with the Inquiry and giving themselves 6-figure bonuses whilst withholding the racist document that has only just emerged and doubtless much else just as damning, I wouldn't recommend anyone breath. The clicking sound you hear is of ranks closing and the scraping sound is bucks being passed.
