Richard. Thank you for this. As a layman I can’t share what seems to be lawyerly admiration for Altman. He appeared to be let off the hook by an “unfortunate” lack of time. And somehow, none of his peers managed to pin him to the ground over his general claim that his most egregious errors were unfortunate “mistakes”. He managed not to make any when his professional record was on the line here.
A very reasonable response. You are right, it is lawyerly admiration, and I will try and return to your point in a later post. I do think more time should have been allowed. Williams knows he is taking a risk by forcing the timetable in this way. He is doing it because he wants to complete his work in reasonable time of course but I think this example shows it might come at a significant cost.
