None of these PO lawyers, or other PO employees, giving evidence to the Inquiry all appeared to have no involvement with Horizon or the prosecution of Postmasters/Mistresses : '" I was not not responsible for that ". " It was not in my remit to do that ". " I don't recall seeing that " Etc. Etc. Etc. Moreover, none of them were able, or indeed permitted, to name the people who were responsible. It's all turning into a bit of a farce and one big cover-up, to add yet more pain and injustice to those thousands of people who directly and indirectly suffered ( and are suffering ) as a result of the actions of Post Office lawyers and executives. The only persons to come out of this farce with any credibility will be Jason Beer KC and those lawyers representing core participants who, on occasions, are not given enough time or legal leeway to get the right answers from past and present employees of the Post Office who give evidence. This is not going to end well.
No root cause analysis at all. What happened to cause the discrepancies. How did the the #FalseNegatives occur? Why did the live defects slip through the net? What could have been done differently? #Quality #Value #Murk #Risk #Strategy🤔
Thanks Richard, and to others who contributed to the video - it's a valuable resource. If only I had personal capacity to do so, I would have liked to produced a video about ethics in the legal industry vs. other industries. I remain shocked by what I have seen in evidence to the inquiry.
Thank you. That has to be one of the most depressing things I have seen in a long time. Me? Ex Army. I could have heard that kind of body swerving any Monday morning any day of the week coming into barracks and wandering around the lines wondering what the guys had done over the week end.
I have checked, all of them seem to me to be, lets call it, technologically challenged, to the point of incompetence too. If I had the authority, I would never, in a million years, have employed any of them in something as technically complex as Horizon.
If, after all this, the legal profession does not catch on that the world has changed around them and knowing what the law says is no longer enough, then more Horizon's are going to happen and indeed are happenning.
If I were any of them I would be embarrassed at ashamed of myself. I rather suspect many are not. And that reeks of arrogance.
Thank you for sharing Richard. I’d like to make a couple of points which is not only WHAT is said but HOW it is said. 80 percent of communication is non verbal. A key chief technology officer said to me once at a lessons learned, “99 per cent of all problems are communication”. He was right. Some of the analysis by Dr. Paul Duckett is excellent. Our feelings and emotions can be superb at providing us with unconscious competence intentional decision making especially if our moral compass is in good working order. #Feelings #Emotions #Body
The other point is timing. How many apologies came perhaps, 1, 2, 5, 10, 15, perhaps 20 years too late? How many people in operations and organisational governance roles (not lawyers) withheld and were silently complicit and for how long. Have we merely scratched the surface of examining root cause problems through the enquiry? When I’m working I like to speak up as early as possible if I have made a mistake as long as it’s safe to do so. As a test consultant I advocate for shift left testing practices. What does this tell us about endemic psychological unsafety, culture, fear and people’s mental health? This is a huge opportunity to address culture at an action level and not just a words level. How can we create new test planning, monitoring and control mechanisms not only for software and infrastructure defects but for behavioural, people defects based on moral leadership. Thank you for your wonderful work with Flora in ensuring that the Simon Clarke advice did not remain concealed. That was a particular sinful narcissistic force at work there. You passed your trial and had to withstand a lot of stress imo. If that advice had not remained concealed for so long just imagine how much less damage to the public interest there could have been. There must be careful analysis of bugs, errors and defects of all systemically flawed systems in my humble opinion. 🙏
We live in a new digital age so there is no excuse for not communicating effectively with trust, truth and transparency so freedom and security are held sacrosanct for all. That means challenging with dignity and respect at all times. We need new visions, goals, missions, purposes and values in each ecosystem and each person in that ecosystem must be strategically aligned and strategically impactful. My own values are collaboration, inclusion, transparency, innovation and entrepreneurialism. What I have learned is that I must practice, practice, practice otherwise I’m as guilty as the next person for transgressing my values. I have so much vicarious empathy for the sub post masters and the trauma they have experienced. I’ve watched Jo Hamilton in particular attending so many times at the enquiry and my heart bleeds for every single traumatised sub post master and affected family member.
If people (men in particular) rediscover their hearts, feeling and emotions then perhaps
, just perhaps we can start the long road back from the abyss. 🙏 So let’s not make this all about the lawyers, there must be a culture change too from ALL the clients and organisations that willingly reach out to pay them.
I can recommend identity oriented psychotrauma therapy to help all those who have separated out trauma parts from their healthy “I” because it’s only through neural plastic brain training #BTFA that real change will occur. IOPT is critical not only for the victims but for the perpetrators. It is in the victims interest that perpetrators heal too.

Implausible deniability.

Well done all involved in the production… it’s valuable to look at this specific area - apologies matter.
Brilliant 👏👏👏
